“Diana Shay is empathetic and insightful in her coaching. She is truly present when she is interacting with people and has a calm but strong presence allowing vulnerability and trust to be cultivated. She is genuine, wise, and caring and has a heart for helping people in their growth process. I have personally benefited from working with her and have seen the positive impact she has had on many people.”  ~ Jaimie Stoltzfus

“Diana Shay is a gifted Townsend leadership Program Director who is deeply concerned about people’s growth. What sets Diana apart from many is her continued desire for more personal growth, herself. Diana was a member of a TLP team for four years prior to becoming a TLP Director and she lives the thought that you cannot take people any farther than you have come yourself. I am blessed to have witnessed Diana’s transformation from participant to leader in this world and I count it an honor to co-lead a team with her this year. For those looking for someone who can draw out your ‘deeper waters,’ look to Diana Shay to get you to the next level in your personal growth!”  ~ Jeff Carroll

I know her to be a compassionate person who pays attention and remembers the important things going on in the lives of others. She is insightful and full of grace. I highly recommend her as your TLP Director.” ~ Jim Haw

Nick Kennedy

October 23, 2018 by

I was the Founder and CEO of RISE which was acquired by Surf Air in 2017. Surf Air has flown several hundred thousand frequent travelers on private planes giving them the ability to be home for breakfast, in another city for meetings and back in time for soccer practice. In a few years, I assembled a world-class team and leveraged my technology and client service background to develop an accessible, high-touch and highly scalable business model that positioned the company to lead the next generation of air travel.

My career started with EDS, and then shifted to helping build successful ventures that were acquired by companies like NCR and Nanthealth (IPO 2016). During that time, I accumulated over two million airline miles while losing hundreds of hours of productivity and time with family due to the highly inefficient and broken commercial airline industry. As a natural entrepreneur, I focused on a building a company that would make private flying more accessible and economical for everyday business people but without the expensive capital and operational burdens associated with owning planes.

I was born in Colorado and raised in California and when I was 16 my life imploded when my dad was sentenced to 20 years in prison, and I involuntarily exchanged my upper-middle-class life for the life of an Angel Tree kid.

A baseball scholarship brought me to my bride, and a job brought us to Texas, and being a successful entrepreneur brought me wealth and power and the realization that I was not nearly as strong as I thought I was.

The embarrassment of being a convict’s son once drove my need for success but being vulnerable and authentic connected me to reality. I’ve spent the first half of my life gathering stuff like my life depended on it, and I plan on spending the second half developing leaders by teaching the business skills that grew my earthly kingdom beyond my imagination along with the emotional skills that allowed me to be fully integrated and connected in my community.

As a Townsend Leadership Program (TLP) Director, I have the privilege of leading people through the 12-month program in my home. I have been trained to lead high-performing leaders in both competency and character based on a growth model developed by Dr. Townsend and am equipped to help leaders to grow holistically and to experience personal and professional success.

I live in Dallas with my brilliant wife of 20 years and our three kids. I am a “past my prime” athlete who enjoys baseball (played catcher in college), Peloton™ (ibrake4donuts), and has completed the Ironman® triathlon (barely).

Elaine Morris

July 30, 2018 by

Elaine partnered with John Townsend in 2009, when she invited John to launch TLP in the Dallas area. Prior to that, John was leading TLP exclusively in the Newport Beach, California area. Elaine and John co-led TLP in Dallas for five years. Together they developed a model to train other TLP Directors to replicate John’s training method and make it more widely available. As a result of their collaboration, TLP is now led in locations all over the country and the demand for TLP is growing at a rapid rate.

As the co-founder and former president of Townsend Leadership Group, Elaine now limits her practice to a select group of clients and facilitation of one TLP group per year in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, beginning each January. She opens registration in August and utilizes a detailed application process to assure the best fit and mix of leaders for her group.

Elaine has more than 30 years experience running her own consulting practice offering such services as: executive coaching, leadership training and retreat facilitation for upper-level executives of small to mid-sized organizations.

Elaine’s experience spans a wide variety of industries. These include: commercial real estate, construction, technology, engineering, retail, oil and gas, health care, financial services, hospitality, direct sales, government, legal services, private education and non-profits.

Elaine brings a strong background of education and certifications in emotional intelligence and other tools to help leaders build self-awareness that leads to increased performance, collaboration and real bottom-line results.

Elaine is married to Rod Morris and they have a wonderfully eclectic blended family with 2 grown daughters, a son-in-law and a grandson. Elaine considers herself a “wounded healer” and she is grateful for the growth she has had through her relationship with Christ, a loving family, and the Townsend growth model. Her life scripture is “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing.” John 5:15

“John’s unique, holistic growth model for leaders simply works. As a long-time executive coach, I have seen many models profess to help leaders perform at their best, No other method integrates the whole person so seamlessly and incorporates the inside stuff of a leader. The TLP experience helps leaders master well-researched business practices such as how to handle tough conversations while maintaining the alliance. Plus, members benefit from the sheer power of a truly bonded group who are committed to one another’s success. I love seeing diverse leaders, older and younger, male and female, from different educational backgrounds and industries brainstorm solutions to tough business and personal issues. TLP is also biblically based so the principles are based on rock, not sinking sand. I have seen leaders not only transform their cultures and grow profits, but become better parents, enjoy healthier marriages and deepen their relationship with God!”

His company has made a huge impact in the lives of families that wouldn’t otherwise be able to own a home. He has purchased, restored, and sold more than 600 houses in DFW. In 2016, Craig launched Indwell Realty, a business development company where real estate agents can build their perfect real estate career.

Craig is deeply motivated to help high performers excel at work and at home. He has been personally trained by Dr. John Townsend and is a Director in the Townsend Leadership Program. He is also enrolled in the Executive Coaching Graduate Program at the Townsend Institute for Leadership and Counseling at Huntington University.

“Everyone thinks leaders are okay because they appear so strong and capable, but as a leader with first-hand experience, I know this isn’t the truth. Most leaders aren’t running on all cylinders, because they don’t have a safe place to process their fears and struggles. I know from personal experience that being in isolation can cause you to lose millions. I have a passion for showing leaders the real issues that are holding them back instead of repeating a bunch of strategies and tactics they already know.”
